   Good for beginners

   Bought this to help keep me busy. Wanted something that I could pick up and work on during my spare time when I'm watching TV or something. My sister-in-law crochets, and she always makes the coolest things, so I figured I would get a set and start trying. Everything in the kit functions as it should and works well. I feel like you are getting a ton of things at a good price point so the value for your money is there. The kit contained everything that one would need to start their crochet journey, but I will say it would be even better if there was a tension ring. That was my biggest complaint initially was that not being included, so I did eventually go in search of one because I just couldn't get the tension right and all of my chains were so inconsistent. The size of the box was a lot smaller than I expected for everything that came in it, but the design and the presentation was great. I think that this is a good buy for beginners. I gave it 4 stars only because the tension ring would have made this beginner box complete for me. Also, the yarn was nothing to write home about, very cheap, but again for a beginner it worked fine!

   I've been wanting to learn to crochet for a bit now and finally have some time to do it. So far this kit seems like it has everything needed to get started and progress into learning. I will say the yarn is not worth it... they are tiny little balls... not really enough to do anything with. But I came up with a good first project to practice and use them... I'm making single crochet squares in the different colors and will crochet them together when I'm done. I'm calling it a crayon box blanket and will give it to a friend with young kids to also work on learning colors. I actually love this idea and could see getting more yarn to make them again, though hopefully I'll have progressed to some more advanced stitches 🙂
