   Be prepared for the learning curve on this item. It was important to me because I have arthritis in my hands and I've also had a couple of surgeries on my hands and wrists. I really needed something to help me with tension and the rings just were not working at all. I was excited to try this! I did find it quite fumbly. I fought with both the yarn and holding this gadget. I did pretty good just doing straight double/single crochet stitches, but doing the magic ring was harder than using just my hands, and working with large projects was also hard. I believe its really just that darn learning curve where I've done enough to know where to put my yarn and my hands, etc. I will keep working with it because I know the older I get, the more I'm going to need this. I'm pretty confident that one day I will be good at it and glad I bought it. My word to the wise: If you don't absolutely need this, don't waste your time with it. It is very fumbly and awkward, and you'll get frustrated before you ever get good at using it. It's best used for those who need it and have the motivation to stick with it.

   I'm far from a beginner and this thing was still extremely helpful with my hand cramps. I bought it to use for my small nylon thread that is tough and hard to hold. It eliminated my hand cramps for me to finish my project. I won't use it every project but definitely for any smaller yarns or stuff yarns that cause me trouble!
